Infrastructure Technology Institute

ITI Research Engineer Dan Hogan working in Bostona, MA

"The theme of the Infrastructure Technology Institute is to develop strategies and tools to protect and improve the condition, capacity, and performance of the nation’s highway, railroad, and mass transit infrastructure systems."

The Infrastructure Technology Institute (ITI) develops advanced methods for monitoring infrastructure condition and performance to assist owners and operators with critical decisions concerning structural integrity, renewal, and rehabilitation.

Supported by a grant from the US Department of Transportation, Research and Innovative Technology Administration, ITI brings theoretical knowledge, practical experience with a wide array of transportation structures, structural health sensors, and wireless communications; and an abundance of creative problem-solving to bear on the protection and renewal of the nation's transportation infrastructure.
