Igor Komsky's work involves ultrasonic testing for nondestructive evaluation of vehicles and infrastructure facilities. He is developing ultrasonic testing procedures and equipment for inspection and evaluation of aging aircraft. For the Institute, his work has dealt with using ultrasonic testing to inspect and evaluate bridge hanger pins and hanger pin assemblies, and has led to development of an automated ultrasonic imaging system for field evaluation of bridge pins and hangers.
