David Prine is the Institute's retired Chief Research Engineer.
He has four decades of experience in research and development in a wide
range of nondestructive testing and evaluation (NDE) technologies, including
advancements in acoustic emission, ultrasonic imaging, coherent optics,
electromagnetics and microwaves. His current work with the Institute
involves the application of advanced NDE techniques to steel and concrete
bridge super and sub-structures, as well as bridge decks and foundations,
recently focusing on the development and implementation of practical
systems that allow continuous remote monitoring of bridge and other infrastructure
facility condition.
