Infrastructure Technology Institute

The Institute hosted a week-long high school summer camp from 2002 to 2011, open to all high school students. Camp participants gained knowledge of the infrastructure in many areas around them. Curriculum focused on public utilities, roads, bridges, sewer systems, and airports.
A typical day was split between a brief lecture or activity and then a field excursion. Field trips have included Chicago Midway International Airport, the Illinois Railway Museum, a Chicago Transit Authority train tour, a Lake Michigan Locks boat tour, a Chicago River tour, a wetlands excursion, and an afternoon of urban exploring in downtown Evanston.
In 2011, ITI hosted its final summer camp experience for high school students and will not be hosting any camps in the future due to financial constraints.
