Conference Proceedings
The Northwestern University Infrastructue Technology Institute and the California Department of Transportation held their fifth conference on nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of bridges and its application to improve condition determination for bridge management systems (BMS) on September 18-19, 1997, at the CALTRANS offices in Sacramento, California. The conference provided an opportunity for state and municipal transportation department personnel to interact with researchers in the field of bridge NDE and BMS.
The conference included presentations by Northwestern University researchers on recent results in the Infrastructure Technology Institute's bridge NDE technology transfer project to the problems of bridge condition determination. CALTRANS personnel also contributed important perspectives in the field.
